Spring waffles

In the spring, it is perfect to offer waffles. You need a waffle iron and a good recipe. It is best to bake them yourself and not use ready-made powder the old-fashioned way. Recipe further developed from cookbook Prinsessorna anno 1933. In English, waffle is called wafer in French gaufre and in Italian cialda. Waffles are an ancient staple food and the only thing eaten during Lent. The story back in time that the crispy pancakes with raised grid patterns come off according to an old saying that it was a crusader (spreader of the Christian gospel about Jesus) who, wearing his armor, happened to sit on some freshly baked wheat bread cakes. The imprints of the armor made the bread so finely checkered that the knight had to come to the kitchen every baking day and pattern the loaves. This is the origin of today's checkered waffle iron.

Bring out the following for about 8 waffels. 

1. 1 Microwave owen.

2. 1 Waffle iron.

3. 2 Kkp 40% whip cream .

4. 2 Eggs.

5. 1 Kkp Water.

6. 150 grams of Wheat Flour (fine variety).

7. 3 tablespoons melted butter (microwaved in the oven for about 1 min).

8. 1.5 Kkp Whipped cream barely. And about 1 kkp for serving (everything is whipped).

9. 1 Peel of about 1 grated lemon.

First, whip the cream thickly airy and hard in a bowl (save just in time for serving). Mix in the rest of the ingredients. Stir gently with a ladle to a smooth, fairly thick batter.

Put so much butter on the iron that the squares are covered. Use a type of ladle. During the first baking with the first layer, a little butter can be brushed on the iron so that it does not stick. Then the waffles contain enough fat not to stick. Bake them so they turn golden brown, not black and hard so that they can be easily removed with a fork.

Serve everything with coffee, good jam and wiping cream. Apricot, Strawberry (tasty!).

Tip! The waffles are piled up. Later when the guests come, in with everything in the microwave and heat for about 1 minute. Everything is freshly baked on the spot and you can cook everything in advance.
