Surkraut stew
Make the sauerkraut pot as Kockgrytan. The pot is inspired by the Hungarians sauerkraut where they always have the pepper fruit with where it becomes extra tasty. Buy the sauerkraut on a jar or do yourself. If you want milder taste and not so acidly rinse the sauerkraut in a strainer for a few seconds with cold water and let it drain.
Ingredientsför ca 4 personer.
1. 2 pcs. For example, onions a yellow and a red.
2. 2 tbsp. Oil for frying in the frying pan.
3. 4st. Mature tomatoes.
4. 1 pcs. Broth cubes. Tex vegetable.
5. 1 pcs. Pepper.
6. approx. 550 ml of water.
7. 1 can about 500 grams of sauerkraut.
8. approx. 300 grams of lean smoked meat eg cassettes.
9. 2 tbsp. Tomato puree.
10. 2-3 spices black or white pepper.
11. 0.5-1 tsp. Sweet paprika powder.
Do this.
1. Peel and shred the onion.
2. Heat the oil and brown the onion in, for example, a frying pan.
3. Dice the tomatoes and stir in them as well.
4. Dice the pork, add this.
5. Mix down the sauerkraut.
6. Switch to pot and have everything together with the broth. If you want thicker or thinner stew dilute with the broth.
6. Taste with the spices.
7. Let simmer under lid for about 15-20 minutes.
Note! Serve with pasta or potatoes and maybe a squat sour milk.
Note! Sourkraut and broth cubes contain a lot of salt, so this does not need to be added to the pot.
Tip! Good with about 1 cup white dry wine that is poured towards the end of the cooking time.
